1995 BMW 540i M, one of only 72 built, this one being number 46. It has had just two previous owners. The last owner is 85 years old, had a small collection of cars, and emigrated to Mauritius. The car was parked for a number of years but has since been recommissioned and recently serviced.
It comes with service books up to around 128,000 km, a spare set of keys, and BMW invoices showing parts that were replaced. The oil is clean, new spark plugs were fitted, it starts easily, idles smoothly, and drives exceptionally well. Mileage is low and it’s a factory manual car, very rare, often referred to as the 540i M Individual.
It has the original M-Tech body kit, Throwing Star wheels (including the spare), full original tool kit, and brand-new tyres. Everything is OEM and period correct. The driver’s seat has been repaired, which is the only seat showing any work, the rear seats look virtually unused. Mechanically the car is excellent and drives beautifully with no issues.
Just to be fully upfront on cosmetics, the previous owner replaced the rear centre bumper beading after his dog damaged it. The front spoiler appears to have been repainted at some stage, and the right rear door shows signs of a light touch-up. There is no overspray or accident damage, and in most lighting the paint looks original, although in certain light you can see the touch-up on that door. Aside from that, the car presents as OEM and largely original throughout.
