Bmw E30 333I for sale
The BMW 333i E30 is an ultra-rare, South African-exclusive performance car built between 1985 and 1987 by BMW South Africa and German tuner Alpina.
Origins and Rarity
• Local Build: Assembled at the Rosslyn plant in Pretoria because South Africa missed out on the original European E30 M3 due to import rules.
• Low Production: Only 204 customer units were ever manufactured, making it a major collector's item.
Engine and Performance
• Big Six Power: BMW took a standard E30 body and installed the large 3.2-liter M30 inline-six engine from the 733i.
• Output: It produces 145 kW (197 hp) of power and 285 Nm of torque.
• Transmission: Connected to a 5-speed close-ratio "dogleg" manual gearbox and a limited-slip differential.
• Speed: It accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 7.4 seconds with a top speed of 228 km/h.
• AC vs. Power Steering: Because the big engine filled the engine bay tightly, buyers had to choose between air conditioning and power steering.
• Design Differences: Power steering models came with fog lights, while air-conditioned models used the fog light space for fresh air ducts
